"Symphony of Silence" is a feature documentary directed by Julianne Sato-Parker that follows Amazonian sound recordist Josue Borman and hearing-impaired acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton on a cross-continental cinematic journey, exploring how sound connects us to the planet. Moving between the Ecuadorian Amazon and the Pacific Northwest, the film reveals how sound functions as a vital indicator of ecological health – and what we stand to lose when we stop listening.
